ADSUGATE :EFCC files fresh charges against Former Adsu Bursar, Kumthi Ezra Anjili
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has charged Former Bursar, Adamawa State University, Mubi Mr. Kumthi Ezra Anjili, before Federal High Court in Yola for an alleged fraud of N146 million. Mr Kumthi, who is to be arraigned on thirteen count charge in suit No FHC/YL/24/201 2018 is alleged to have used his official position as bursar to defraud the university of various sums by transferring the said sum through electronic mandate to zenith bank account 1000442847 titled Abdullahi Aliyu under the false pretence that the sum was payment for study fellowship, facts which Kumthi knew is false and thereby committing an offence contrary to section 1 (1) (a) and punishable under Section (1)(13) of the advance fee fraud and other related offences act,2006. He is alleged to have defrauded the university to the tune of N three million by transferring same to Abdullahi A. Galadima, under the pretense of buying marker board for the university. According to the charge sheet obtained by our reporter, between January 18 2016 and march 2016, he allegedly transferred N18,825.500.00 million through account number 0027121730 domiciled with Guaranty trust bank to Abdulaahi Galadima thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 15(2)(a) of Money laundering Acts. He was also alleged to have unlawfully transferred N27 million to various fictitious accounts which contravene the 2011 Money Laundering Act. “That you, Kumthi Anjili, between January 2016 and march 2016 transferred the sum of twenty sseven million to zenith bank account number 1012566692 titled Rabo lined concept investment limited thereby committing an offence contrary to Section 1(2) of the miscellaneous offence act.” the economic and financial crime commision (Efcc) also accused Kumthi Ezra Anjili of severally forging the signature of Dr Zaruwa between the months of January and March 2016 to perpetuate this fraud through electronic mandate of the University. the charge sheet noted. The matter was adjourned to September 25, 2018 for arraignment of Kumthi Ezra Anjili.
