Despite inheriting about 8 billion from Bindow, Fintiri Keeps Mum over April/May salary arrears in Adamawa
Newly sworn-in Governor of Adamawa State, Alhaji Umaru Ahmad Fintiri, may have shocked many party faithful and well-wishers over non-payment of the two months’ salary arrears of the civil servants in Adamawa.
Contrary to the expectations of many who believed immediately Fintiri is sworn into office, the two months’ salary arrears Zenith and UBA bank frustrated the immediate past governor of the state, Senator Jibrilla Bindow from paying will be paid to them after Fintiri takes mantle of leadership.
Some residents, who spoke to our correspondent, said they had expected the governor to at least order the immediate payment of the two months’ salary arrears since there is money left behind by Senator Bindow with Zenith and UBA bank, “it is unfortunate that up till today after the 48 hours of inauguration the governor kept silence over our salary.
“Fintiri and his party accused has Bindow of not paying April and May salary during this Ramadan period, only for him to enter office after 48 hours and keep quiet, if they continue this way we will all lose confidence in Fintiri and the “fresh air” he promised us all” Mr Bala Usman told this news medium.
