Uncovering the atrocious plot to tarnish Dr. Abubakar Yaji’s legacy at Adamawa State College of Agriculture

The Adamawa state college of Agriculture is currently gearing up for another leadership selection. The immediate past Provost, Dr. Abubakar Yaji, is already been attacked by some people hell bent to stop his tenure renewal.

A few months ago, an undercover ‘Group of Concerned Staff Members,’ said to have been hurriedly coupled together by some non-staff of the college filed a report against the immediate past provost, demanding an investigation into his governance, human resources, deals and management.

The purported ‘sins’ of Abubakar, the college former provost, are unusual. He is being accused of not effectively manage the resource at his disposal as the provost, also they have accused him of not getting the required accreditation for the college to function optimally, specifically handing contracts to acquaintance and appointing relatives to strategic positions at the agriculture institution in Ganye; an allegation that was debunked by facts by some staff of NBTE that severally denied the institution accreditation base on total neglect by successive governors of the state from 1999 till date.

Abubakar was duly exonerated completely by this news medium as the uncover journalist that visits the institution severally dismissed the allege accusations label on Abuabakar because none of the charges was substantiated by the “whistle-blowers”, of which some were patently ridiculous.

.
In the purported petition written against Abubakar, the college source told this news medium that, the whistle blower Since slams false and malicious allegations Abubakar’s arrival at the college in September 2016, they has done everything possible to tear down the reputation and integrity of not just Mr Abubakar, but the whole institution, for reasons unbeknownst to many.

While certain outlets have been quick to link Abaubakar’s travails to Governor Fintiri’s reported dislike of Abuabakr as the college head, and his recent foot dragging in renewing his tenure, a government house source have, however, affirmed that Mr. Abubakar is in the Governors’ good books and is unaware of any plans to stop his renewal bid.

It is more of an orchestrated campaign aimed at tainting his legacy and commendable work so far. It is important to state that in four years as CAG Provost, Abubakar’s achievements are legion and his bold reforms have helped reposition the college’s influence and other high impact projects, thus accelerating development across the college.

It is, however, surprising that any individual or group would oppose his quest for continued leadership, up to the point of hastily cooking up allegations that question his integrity. Even more suspicious is the timing of this frivolous tussle, when it is almost inevitable that the college’s provost will reassume office for another tenure.

Writing on her Twitter handle on Monday, Luka Ibrahim, a foremost civil society leader in Adamawa described Abubakar as ‘a man of integrity and a great leader.’ “He remains the best man to lead the college for the next four years,” he tweeted.
