Adamawa Emirate strips defeated ADC senatorial aspirants, Mustapha of traditional title for alleged misconduct.

The Adamawa State Emirate has stripped a defeated ADC senatorial aspirant, Mustapha Umar, of his traditional Mukaddas Adamawa title indefinitely.

The sack was contained in a three-paragraph letter to that effect, sent to Umar Mustapha by the Emirate council, with reference number AEC/ADM/21/VOL.X dated December 10, 2021, and signed by the Emirate’s secretary, Khalil M Kawu.

The letter said the sack became necessary considering some “unbecoming behaviour” of Umar Mustapha, which amounted to disrespect to the Adamawa emirate council and other traditional title holders in the Emirate.

The letter expressly referred to Umar Mustapha’s reckless outburst against the recent vehicle gift from Adamawa state Governor Umaru Fintiri to first-class traditional rulers.

The Emirate Council faulted his statement condemning the car gift, which the council viewed as grave misconduct and disrespect to constituted authorities.

The letter reads: “After thorough deliberation by the Emirate Council on your actions which are disrespectful to the Adamawa emirate council, you are hereby stripe as the Mukaddas Adamawa title.”

All attempts to get the defeated ADC senatorial aspirant to react to the development failed as he neither picked the calls put through to his mobile number nor replied to messages sent to him as of the time of filing this report.
