Adamawa north: Ishaku Abbo emerges through primitive rigging, and I will reclaim my mandate—Rev. Yohanna

Rev. Yohanna Amos, the senatorial candidate for the People’s Democratic Party in Adamawa North, filed a petition to challenge Ishaku Abbo and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), over their election results.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Ishaku Abbo the winner of the Adamawa North senatorial district elections.
Yohanna and his team of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN) and lawyers filed the petition at the High Court in Yola, which is where the tribunal is based.
The petition is premised on the following two grounds.
that the legal votes used to elect the second respondent, Ishaku Abbo, were invalid.
2. That the second respondent’s election was invalid because it didn’t follow the rules of the Electoral Act, 2022, as amended.
Yohanna said that he hoped he would win at the tribunal because he had a lot of proof and evidence from INEC’s inspection of election materials and from other reliable witnesses.
“You will remember that after INEC announced Ishaku Abbo of the APC as the winner of the last elections, despite very obvious manipulation and primitive rigging, I promised my supporters, party faithfuls, and the good people of Adamawa North who sincerely wanted a real change that I would not keep quiet for their goodwill to be tempted. I was going to legitimately interrogate the declaration.
“The exercise I have done here today is to mark the beginning of the journey. Once again, let me assure you of my unwavering commitment to this course. Do not be depressed or give up your dream for a better Adamawa North. With God and you by my side, I shall pursue this to a logical conclusion.
“The heap of evidence we have gathered is overwhelming and indeed tear-jerking to contemplate or think about while ignoring it for whatever reason. Adamawa North must be redeemed”.
