At Easter, Governor Fintiri urges the people to maintain peace and selflessness.
Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has urged residents to maintain a culture of peace and generosity over the Easter holiday weekend.
Greeting Christians as Good Friday began throughout the world, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri recounted the biblical teachings of Jesus Christ while urging individuals to share with the less fortunate in society.
The Governor intimated in a statement issued by his chief press secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, that Christ offered himself up to suffer for the healing of the world rather than its destruction.
“This is the sacrifice we must try to make for our state’s and nation’s unity, peace, progress, growth, and development,” Wonosikou stated.
Governor Fintiri described Easter as a significant season for Christians, noting that “Christians must remember the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.”
“As we enter the Easter season this year, let us remember that it is a season for sacrificing ourselves, the same season in which Jesus was sacrificed for the forgiveness of our sins and the sake of peace,” he stated.
He stated that his administration will continue to make sacrifices in order to ensure the provision of the democratic dividend, stressing that “no community will be left behind or untouched, and no project will be abandoned.”
The governor stated that he hoped to complete all projects that he initiated or took over before the conclusion of his term. He also stated that the incoming administration would invest more on infrastructure and human resources than the previous one.
“We’ll start putting our hospital projects into action right after Easter, starting with the Dumne Cottage hospital.”
“As we celebrate the saving grace of Jesus Christ, let us not forget those who are less fortunate.””Let us make it our mission this Easter to show love by assisting those in need, just as Jesus did by dying on the cross.”
“I send you this message of goodwill and best wishes, praying that we will continue to build our state to become a respected community that we are proud of, a state where people forgive each other, and, most importantly, a nation at peace with itself.”
