Fact Check: The story ascribed to the Adamawa PCC warning INEC is false and misleading.

The suggestion made by some APC leaders that soldiers will be deployed to Adamawa to carry out a pre-planned operation is untrue. Furthermore, the Adamawa-based statement that “PDP warns INEC against undermining people’s wishes” is untrue.

An audio clip appeared online on Thursday of a claimed APC supporter saying soldiers will be sent from Gombe and Binani will be declared by force, which is why the army was transported in.

Why The Finder cannot verify the veracity of such stories. APC supporters continued to grab on to any false information coming from the PDP camp in Adamawa.

“The army is not brought in to do any hatched job,” an APC supporter said. “The problem is that some of the aides around the governor who are not journalists continue to write misleading stories and ditch out misleading headlines, for example, why PCC in Adamawa commends the people and INEC, but later that evening we saw a story that PDP is warning INEC and our people latch onto it to claim the unimaginable.”

verification:

The headline “PDP warns INEC against undermining people’s wishes” is deceptive; the PCC commended INEC and asked people to vote for Fintiri in the rerun.
