Adamawa Governor Fintiri is overjoyed with the capture of INEC’s renegade REC, Hudu.

Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the governor of Adamawa state, sees the arrest of Hudu Yunusa Ari as a brave step towards justice. Hudu’s arrest comes as a big comfort to the governor and shows that he will eventually be brought into compliance with the law.

In a statement issued by the director general media and communication to the governor, Solomon Kummagar, said  “While Hudu was at large, he continued to stoke the embers of discord, misinformation, and half truths about the true motive for his actions and his ignominious role in the sad event of March 16th, 2015, where he attempted with the assistance of compromised security agents, including the commissioner of police Mohammed Barde, the DSS Director Bulama, and the NSCDC Commandant.

We have been very clear that we want justice to be done and for those responsible for this electoral heist to face the full weight of the law. This includes those responsible for the shameful act of declaring the defeated APC candidate the election winner while vote tallying was still underway.

To protect the integrity of elections and the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the arrest of Yunusa Hudu-Ari is a necessary first step.

As a nation with a penchant for impunity and disregard for the rule of law, this is also encouraging news for the wronged members of our society who have persisted despite the sneers and tricks of those who thought our demand for justice would never see the light of day.

The arrest of Hudu gives us hope for a better Nigeria, and we urge the police and other investigating bodies to take this case seriously and see it through to its conclusion so that future generations can learn from this.
