Fintiri swears in first female CJ in Adamawa.

The first female Chief Judge of Adamawa State, Justice Hapsat Abdurrahman, was sworn in alongside Ibrahim Wakili Sudi as Grand Khadi, Sharia Court of Appeal, and Justice Balami as President, Customary Court of Appeal, by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

According to the governor, state officials took the NJC’s recommendations to heart.

The new Chief Judge, President of the Customary Court of Appeal, and Grand Khadi were given the responsibility of respecting the constitution at all times and working cooperatively with the other judges on the court by Fintiri.

The NJC has earlier proposed Hapsat Abdurrahman for the position of chief justice.

Justice Hapsat, the first female chief judge of Adamawa State, expressed gratitude to God in her inaugural address.

“For me, this is a very solemn occasion,” she said. Because God is so proud of himself, he has made me Chief Judge.

She lauded Governor Fintiri for empowering the court system to do its job as required by the constitution without interference.
