MAU award:Adamawa United Alliance condemns Vrati’s divisive utterances.
Binani’s coordinator, Vrati Nzonzo, has been roundly criticised by Adamawa United Alliance chairman and criticised for promoting ethno-religious politics and making divisive remarks.
The statement of condemnation was released on Saturday in Abuja by head of media Abdulmalik Haruna.
“Vrati Nzonzo has few political principles,” the statement reads. As evidence, consider the fact that he has never been elected to represent the Numan/Lamurde federal constituency in the House of Representatives due to his unguarded remarks.
The wind he and the APC are blowing in today, says one critic, is “sectarianism and ethnicity,” which is bad news for the people of Adamawa State.
Vrati plays on divisive utterance to boost Binani’s political standing, knowing full well that governor Umaru Fintiri, who deserves the award the most for his prowls in the education sector, was also left out of the running.
This time, Vrati uses Modibbo Adamawa University, a centre for education, as a target in an effort to stir up animosity.
“This wicked talk is aimed at giving cover to APC and Binani, as not even the man who championed the foundation of the university was given an award, as was the case in Rwanda, where the then Hutu leaders of the country incited their countrymen against each other, claiming there was a’secret Tutsi agenda’ over the Hutu.” “Why is Vrati behaving like a bull in a china shop?”
According to the AUA’s media secretary, these are not the actions of someone who should be trusted to lead public services or hold public office.
The fact that Vrati is going on the offensive over Binani’s exclusion from the MAU award list, he argued, is unfortunate because it demonstrates how they interpret every action, good or bad, through the lens of their politics.
It was the president who signed the bill before it became law, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, who also contributed, and like wise Governor Fintiri who led Adamawa sons and daughters to present their demand to the federal government; all in all, MAU, Yola is a collective decision of good and fair people of Adamawa not a single individual struggle.”
