Governor Fintiri relieves political appointees, excludes statutory appointees.
The Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has disbanded the State Executive Council and removed all political office holders, including chairmen of boards and parastatals, from their positions.
The governor has also asked all concerned appointees to give over government property in their control to the most senior civil officials in their respective ministries, departments, and agencies, according to the governor’s chief press secretary, Humwashi Wonosoiku.
Governor Fintiri, who takes office for the second time on Monday, May 29, 2023, exempted political officeholders on statutory commissions from the directive.
While recognising the affected appointees’ contributions to the development of the state, the governor wished them well in their future aspirations.
“I appreciate every contribution you have made in the last four years to the growth and development of our dear state; the team spirit is the result of our good performance, which has made Adamawa a model for others.”
