Appointment: consultation before appointment into my government is sacrosant, Fintiri tells Adamawa PDP members.
Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has warned that stakeholders in the People’s Democratic Party should not ignore the directive to return home and speak with the people before presenting the list of appointees.
According to the governor’s chief press secretary, Humwashi Wunosoiku, during a stakeholder meeting last Wednesday, the governor requested that a list of fifteen to twenty people capable of becoming the First Eleven be presented from each local government after due consultation with their people back home.
“Anything less than the directive to do the right thing amounts to total disregard and disobedience of what was agreed upon,” he stated. As a result, any list submitted following the conclusion of a conference in Yola, the state capital, rather than their respective local government regions, is inadmissible.”
The flagrant disregard for the process was termed by Rt. Hon. Fintiri as an open contempt for established procedures.
The Governor expressed regret that the desperation of certain selfish politicians was beginning to show, and he asked them to remain firm for democracy, peace, and national unity while resisting the temptation to do the wrong thing.
“I must warn that such a list will not be accepted by me, as the directive’s goal has been defeated because the people have not been brought along.”
