Tukurs, Edgars’s appointment: Fintiri making right choices — Group.
Adamawa Coalition for Change has said the recent appointments of Awwal Tukur and Dr. Amos Edgar as Secretary to the Adamawa State Government and Chief of Staff to the Governor, respectively, were good choices.
Conveners of the group, Muhammad Bello and Wilson Mathias, told journalists today in Abuja that the appointment indicated that Governor Fintiri meant well for Adamawa State.
“These appointments are clear indicators that the government is set to move with accelerated speed with the youth and middle-aged citizens at the thrust of her policies and projects, particularly considering the fact that Awwal Tukur has remained a long-standing mentor and supporter of the youth and youth causes,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mathias said Amos Edgar would drive home the vision of the governor as the chief of staff.
“As we gear up towards the second term of Governor Umaru Fintiri, we are hopeful that the promising patriot with uncommon achievements and antecedents in the person of Awwal Tukur will return the government to a more vibrant policy direction.
“The over one hundred million young and middle-aged citizens of Adamawa have overwhelming endorsed Awwal Tukur as SSG prior to today, having performed creditably throughout his trajectory of leadership as chairman of the governing council of the Adamawa State University and the director general presidential and gubernatorial campaign council.
“We firmly believe he will fittingly complement Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri with the virile experience needed for a highly effective executive that shall usher in a greater Adamawa.
“It is highly imperative to make it clear that at such trying times as this, the state needs courageous and tactful leaders to head all the three arms of government in Adamawa State.
“We are at a crossroads of challenges amidst opportunities, and only Awwal Tukur, judging from his past records, can complement the vision of the governor rapidly transforming Adamawa into an economic superpower where poverty, hunger, unemployment, and all related vicissitudes will be dealt a lethal blow. he said.
