COAS advises promoted officers to be ready for greater responsibilities.
Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), has tasked the newly decorated Brigadier Generals with being prepared for greater responsibilities and viewing their promotion as a reward for hard work and perseverance.
Lagbaja delivered the charge on Friday at the Army Headquarters in Abuja during the investiture of newly promoted Colonels to the rank of Brigadier Generals.
This was said by Maj.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, Director, Army Public Relations, on Friday in Abuja.
The COAS stated that the newly promoted senior officers had worked hard to prove their worthiness for the new position.
He exhorted them to remain above board and faithful to the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s Constitution, the President, and the Nigerian Army.
Lagbaja urged them to do everything in their power to energise and ensure the application of his command concept of “transforming the NA into a well-trained, equipped, and highly motivated force, with the goal of performing our constitutional tasks within a joint environment.”
Brig.-Gen. Olakunle Nafiu, speaking on behalf of the recently decorated senior officers, thanked God for rewarding them and their families with advancement in their chosen profession.
Nafiu, the COAS’s Chief of Staff, thanked the army chief and other high officers for their mentorship and advice.
He also expressed the beneficiaries’ gratitude to their spouses for their prayers and support.
He vowed to be completely faithful to the President, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, the Federal Republic of Nigeria Constitution, and the leadership of the Nigerian Army.
