Judgement on Ebonyi Government’s Election Appeal Delayed by Supreme Court
The Supreme Court will inform the parties involved when it renders a ruling in the appeal against the governorship election in Ebonyi State.
Following Monday’s adoption of argument papers, Justice John Okoro reserved judgement.
In a previous ruling, the Lagos Court of Appeal upheld Francis Nwifuru’s legitimacy as Ebonyi State’s governor.
Justice Jummai Sankey presided over a three-judge panel that unanimously rejected Peoples Democratic Party candidate Chukwuma Odii’s appeal.
The panel also found the appellant guilty on all five counts and rejected the case because it lacked merit.
The PDP and its candidates did not have the authority to interfere with the nomination process of the All Progressives Congress, according to Justice Sankey.
