Judging Tinubu Based on Just Eight Months Out of Four Years Is Insufficient—Uzodimma

It is premature to “judge” President Bola Tinubu’s performance in key areas like security and the economy, according to Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma.

As the head of the APC’s Progressives Governors’ Forum, Uzodimma is certain that his partyman can get Nigeria out of its economic rut.

According to Uzodimma, Nigerians would start to appreciate President Tinubu for his extensive changes once they witnessed the fruits of his policies in the coming months.

Nothing has ever been more economically challenging for Nigerians than the current situation, which includes a food inflation rate of 33.93%, an interest rate of 18.75%, a 133 million strong population living in multidimensional poverty, an unemployment rate of 33.3%, a Naira exchange rate of over N1300/US$ on the parallel market, a price per litre of petrol of over N600, and numerous other problems.

Uzodimma reassured Nigerians, though, that Tinubu possesses the “password” to solving the country’s many social and economic problems.

“As the chairman of the South-East Governors’ Forum, which comprises five states, and the Progressives Governors’ Forum, which comprises twenty governors, I can say with confidence that we will all be standing behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as he works to restore economic growth, restore stability to our nation, and restore our way of life to the standards set by our forefathers.”

Just because he is halfway through his four-year term does not give us the green light to pass judgement on him. So, what’s the rush? Crisis, caused by anxiety is affecting certain people. The ground truth is too much for some people to bear.

I feel sure. Something is clearly off if this man can’t fix this country, in my opinion.

In his criticism of cabals, the governor outlined Tinubu’s actions thus far as the “passwords to entering the system”—the elimination of petrol subsidies and the unification of the foreign exchange windows.
