Wike working to improve the lives of people living in rural areas – Secretary.
Mrs. Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi, Mandate Secretary, Women Affairs Secretariat, FCT Administration, spoke on behalf of the FCT Minister, Mr. Nyesom Wike, and indicated that the minister is actively working to improve the quality of life for rural communities.
Benjamins-Laniyi issued the following statement while visiting Mr. Solomon Hassan, the District Head of Kulo, in the FCT’s Kuje Area Council on Wednesday.
According to her, Wike is implementing President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope programme by assisting rural residents.
The secretary, who was in the area to inspect a shuttered groundnut processing plant in the Kulo hamlet, revealed that plans were underway to restart it.
She suggested that the district head maintain track of the community’s concerns and assured that the minister will explore answers.
She claims that Wike keeps his promises and will finish his mission to make the territory a first-rate capital.
According to her, the minister and FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, organised the visit to learn more about the community’s difficulties.
She claims that improving people’s living conditions should be the primary goal.
Following that, the mandate secretary distributed sacks of rice, cooking oil, salt, and an unspecified quantity of money to members of the population.
The district head had previously identified some of the community’s difficulties as a lack of roads, water, electricity, and work opportunities for young people.
Hassan praised Wike’s leadership talents and expressed confidence that the governor will improve living circumstances in rural areas.
The Women Affairs Secretariat was established in October 2023, and February 1, 2024 will mark one hundred days since.
