Obi Reaffirms His Bond with the Labour Party
Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate for 2023, has denied reports that he is quitting the party and instead advocates for amicable party resolution.
The Pantami Sheep Market in Gombe State is home to thousands of homes and business owners, and he made these words on Sunday when he gave a borehole to the market.
I support harmony because I think we are all interconnected. “We are one people and our attention should be on peace. I trust we will address all concerns,” Obi remarked in response to a question regarding the party’s leadership turmoil.
Obi has said that he will be travelling to different parts of the country to attend to the needs of the people, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan when Muslims fast.
Julius Abure is at the heart of recent feuds within the Labour Party.
While some party members have maintained that Abure’s term as LP chairman has ended, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has maintained that Abure must resign and many party members have rejected the news that Abure was allegedly re-elected at the party’s recent national convention in Anambra.
