Governor Fintiri Waves Fee for ICT Infrastructure in Adamawa
Governor of Adamawa State Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has given his approval to lower right-of-way payments from 100 naira to zero kobo.
The governor’s principal press secretary, Humwashi Wonosoiku, declared in a statement that the decision seeks to create an atmosphere that is favourable to the growth of the infrastructure related to information and communication technology and the advancement of digital inclusion across Adamawa State.
The Governor has thus instructed the Ministry of Justice, the Board of Internal Revenue, and the Special Adviser on ICT, e-Government, and Policy to work with the State Government’s Secretary to start the process of amending the pertinent statute with the House of Assembly to eliminate the Right of Way fees.
“The strategic move intends to attract investment in ICT infrastructure, stimulate economic growth and enhance access to high-speed internet services for the benefit of all inhabitants of Adamawa State.”
Wonosoiku says Awwal Tukur, the Secretary to the State Government, is in charge of overseeing the procedure.
