Congresses will fix internal conflicts in Katsina PDP – Atiku
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar says the upcoming party congresses will resolve the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) internal conflicts in Katsina State.
Abubakar told reporters on Saturday in Katsina that he was there to express his condolences to Katsina’s Emir, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir-Usman, on the death of his son, Abdullah Abdulmumini.
“I also condoled with the family of the former Governor of the defunct Kaduna State, late Alhaji Lawal Kaita, over the death of his widow, Hajiya Yelwa Lawal-kaita,” according to him.
Atiku also paid a visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari in his Daura home before condoling with the family of late Alhaji Sade, father of Lawal Dade, Managing Director of NNPC Trading Limited.
He immediately went to see the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouq, and expressed his condolences on Sade’s death.
Regarding the internal crises that had split the party into two groups, Atiku stated, “There will soon be congresses, so people will elect whom they want to be their party leaders.”
It should be noted that a group named ‘PDP main stakeholders’ and the state caretaker committee were at odds over the sale of congress forms.
While the group alleged that they were refused the forms, the state caretaker committee stayed mute despite multiple attempts to contact them about the allegation.
