Healthcare: Governor Fintiri secures $45 million donor funding for Adamawa.
The EU-UNICEF Strengthening Access to Reproductive and Adolescent Health (SARAH) initiative, which is worth $45 million, will be implemented by Adamawa State and two additional states.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s exceptional leadership, transparency, and commitment to international standards led to this selection.
Held in Abuja from July 1st to 2nd, 2024, the project’s National Inception Meeting brought together the state’s health team, headed by by the Honourable Commissioner of Health, Felix B. Tangwami.
Tangwami praised Governor Fintiri for his advice and assistance, and the health sector in Adamawa State is determined to complete the project as promised.
Also, Governor Fintiri has been lauded by Dr. Sulaiman Saidu Bashir, Executive Chairman of the Adamawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency, and others for his successful engagement with UNICEF Country Representative Ms. Christian Munduate and other donors, who have secured substantial partnerships and funding for the state.
According to Dr. Bashir, the SARAH programme would help the people of Adamawa State live healthier lives by resolving nutrition-related concerns and those relating to reproduction, motherhood, babies, and children.
The SARAH project, which is worth $45 million, will be implemented in the states of Adamawa, Kwara, and Sokoto in Nigeria.
He stated this achievement proved Governor Fintiri’s will to better the lives of Adamawa State citizens by enhancing their access to healthcare.
