APC  summons Ndume taking steps to reinstate him as Senate Whip.

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has summoned Senator Ali Ndume to provide an explanation for his recent statements against President Bola Tinubu. These remarks resulted in his removal as Senate Whip.

After the meeting, Dr. Ganduje expressed satisfaction with Ndume’s apology and stated that the party would inform the Senate leadership to reconsider its position.

Ndume was removed following a complaint from the NWC to the Godswill Akpabio led Senate regarding the Borno senator’s remarks about Tinubu.

Speaking after the meeting at the national secretariat of the APC, Ganduje expressed his satisfaction with the apology. We extended an invitation to him, and it’s crucial to keep in mind that the party represents everyone, as he emphasised.

As a party, we have the freedom to extend invitations to legislators, members of the executive, and even appointed party members in the government. That is why we have made the decision to attend.

“It is a matter concerning our family, and we are determined to find a resolution. We have decided to reach out to the National Assembly to inform them about the events involving Senator Ndume and our party.” He expressed his regret to the party, as you know. We will bring up the same concern with the National Assembly in an effort to persuade them to reconsider their decision.

Ndume acknowledged that instead of addressing certain concerns on a public platform, he should have brought them to the attention of the party leadership.

He mentioned that he had been invited to the party yesterday and was now here to talk about family matters. Personally, in my opinion, the national chairman holds a special place in my heart, as he is not just a national chairman, but also a father figure.

Considering the recent developments, it is expected that I would be asked to contribute my viewpoint in our family conversations. Lastly, I recognised my error in not directly addressing the party and assured them that all my observations, as a senior member of the family, should have been directed towards the party.

In the future, I will proceed in a manner that aligns with my values, which are rooted in a deep love for my country. Although I may have strongly voiced these concerns, they still hold true. However, I should have communicated with the party at the last bus stop.

“I haven’t been expelled from my membership. The party didn’t reject me, as it is like a father to me. The only thing the party mentioned is that if I don’t want to stay in this house, I am free to choose any other house.” Where should I go? This is my residence.

This is unrelated to the President or Senate. The President did not take offence. I did not insult the President or say anything against the party. However, I did leave the party out of reaching a consensus on issues. So, please, I believe that is all I can say.
