I’m more concerned about Nigeria’s plight than with 2027, Atiku knocks Bode George.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has declared that he is currently obsessed with the situation of Nigerians who are facing unprecedented hunger and deprivation as a result of several changes in 2027.
He claimed this in response to statements made by Chief Bode George, a fellow member of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT), who encouraged him to abandon all hopes of running for Nigeria’s presidency in 2027.
In fact, Chief George urged Atiku to follow the lead of American President Joe Biden, who recently stood down in favour of a younger Democratic Party contender ahead of the November 2024 presidential race.
Paul Ibe, Atiku’s media adviser, responded by message.
He explained, “We can’t afford to put the waggon before the horse. At this time, Atiku Abubakar is not concerned with 2027. His concern is about 2024.
The issue concerns the years 2025, 2026, and beyond. His concern is for the situation of Nigerians, who are literally going through hell as a result of this administration’s failing trial and error policies.
“The typical citizen, and indeed all Nigerians, must withstand the tsunami that is President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
“It is cruel to discuss 2027 now when the 2023 mandate has produced no real advantages for Nigerians, who are now far worse off in every aspect of life.
“Bode George himself should also turn his attention to counselling Tinubu to reassess some of his ill-advised policies that have deepened poverty and divisions in our country instead of prioritising the politics of 2027.”
Let Atiku knock Bode George out of my mind; I’m fixated on the situation in Nigeria, not the year 2027.
Nigerians are experiencing unprecedented levels of hunger and deprivation in the midst of many changes in 2027, according to Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president, who has expressed his current concern for their plight.
Chief Bode George, a fellow member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Board of Trustees (BoT), had told him to put any ambitions of running for Nigeria’s president in 2027 to rest, and he heard this and stated this in response.
President Joe Biden of the United States recently stood aside to make way for a younger Democratic candidate in the run-up to the 2024 presidential election, and Chief George advised Atiku to follow like.
A message contained Atiku’s reaction, which was written by Paul Ibe, who is his media adviser.
Putting the waggon before the horse is something we just cannot afford, he stated. Atiku Abubakar is now unconcerned with the year 2027. His main focus is on the year 2024.
The problem extends into the future, into the years 2025 and 2026. His heart goes out to the Nigerian people, who are literally going through hell as a result of this government’s ineffective trial-and-error measures.
“Everyone in Nigeria, including the common man, must pull through the deluge that is President Bola Tinubu’s government.
Talking about 2027 when the 2023 mandate has failed to improve Nigerians’ lives in any meaningful way is insensitive. They are now significantly worse off in every way imaginable.
“Rather than focussing on the politics of 2027, Bode George should be advising Tinubu to reconsider some of his misguided policies that have exacerbated poverty and rifts in our nation.”
