‘Nobody Can Put Fire In Bauchi.’ Gov. Mohammed responds to Wike.
Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has responded to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, claiming that no one can destabilise his state.
Mohammed, who chairs the PDP Governors’ Forum, spoke on Tuesday, shortly before the party’s National Working Committee met in Bauchi State.
“Nobody can set fire in Bauchi State.” Bauchi has lots of water. Mohammed went on: “Even my friend who is saying this is saying it because he is annoyed.”
“Perhaps I said something that upset him.” But it’s not personal. My friend is a friend; my work is a job; and leadership is leadership.”
Governor Mohammed addressed internal party difficulties, emphasising that all parties experience crises on times, emphasising the importance of leadership. If we have a disagreement, it is not personal. Nobody should misinterpret us. “We’re together.”
He also stated that discussions on these matters would take place during the meeting.
The PDP Legal Adviser, Kamaludeen Ajibade, SAN, who led the delegation to Bauchi, explained the significance of the party’s NWC visit to the North-Eastern state.
“The goal of the visit is to identify with the Governor and applaud his leadership as Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum. A lot has been going on in our party, and we can’t pretend that everything is fine,” he explained.
Ajibade expressed delight that the chairman and other governors are addressing these concerns, and he promised that the National Working Committee would carry out any decisions taken by the Governors’ Forum.
Three weeks after Wike accused PDP governors of tampering with problems of party control in Rivers, the governor answered.
At a conference in mid-August, governors elected on the PDP platform named Siminalayi Fubara, Wike’s estranged godson, as the party’s head in Rivers.
This irritated Wike, who, together with his allies, arranged a congress in the state to consolidate their control over the Rivers PDP.
