Fintiri mandates certificate verification for all Adamawa workers.
Adamawa Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has directed that all Adamawa state personnel in government institutions, ministries, boards, and agencies submit their credentials for verification.
Humwashi Wonosoiku, the governor’s chief press secretary, stated that the verification committee has till the end of October to complete its responsibilities.
The governor said that the verification process will be completed in October 2024 and cautioned that any employee who disregards the directive risks losing their October pay cheque.
“Workers are, by this, expected to be on duty with their original certificate for verification,” the state’s governor explained.
“Those who are absent, as well as those who have confirmed that they have not been fulfilling their employment terms, shall cease to be government employees.”
According to the governor, this step is intended to restore order and prevent unqualified individuals from holding posts, depriving possibilities to the younger generation.
The purpose of this exercise is to maintain systemic sanity, not to persecute individuals. He issued a warning, noting that noncompliance would result in the loss of October salary unless they submitted their credentials.
Governor Fintiri has, however, promised that “no one will lose their salary if they present their certificates before the end of October.”
The governor’s instruction is motivated by concerns that some people are exploiting system flaws to commit crimes. “We must address these issues, and the service should be a haven for scholarship and honesty, rather than a haven for misfits,” according to him.
