Governor Fintiri Considers Recruitment into Adamawa Civil Service in January
The governor of Adamawa State, Umaru Ahmadu Fintiri, has assured that his administration will look into the possibility of recruitment into the state civil service starting in January 2025.
On Tuesday, the governor announced this while hosting the residents of Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area, who visited him in a show of solidarity at the government house in Yola.
He stated that his government will maintain its focus on projects and programs that directly impact the everyday citizen. Consequently, they declared their intention to incorporate the construction of Bachure roads into their developmental programs for 2025.
Governor Fintiri announced that they have completed their plans, especially regarding the implementation of the National Minimum Wage, to boost the recruitment of state civil service personnel in the early months of 2025, with the goal of enhancing the system.
He emphasised several accomplishments of his administration, including the empowerment of approximately one hundred women and youths in the state, the construction of urban and rural roads, as well as the building and renovation of schools, hospitals, and the Jimeta water treatment plant to ensure access to potable drinking water for the community.
He disclosed that the Yola South local government area has successfully completed approximately 45 kilometres of reticulation, benefiting around five political wards that previously experienced a lack of water.
Nevertheless, the governor conveyed his dissatisfaction regarding the inability to finish the reticulation in Jimeta because of the many buildings obstructing the waterways.
He urged them to develop a road map for the government to finalise the water project in the area, ensuring that the community would have access to quality water.
In his remarks, Alh. Ibrahim Mijinyawa Yayaji, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for transforming Jimeta into a small London.
In their individual speeches, former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hassan Turaki, and the Director General of Aishatu Binani, Hon. Salihu Baba Ahmed, praised Governor Fintiri for his significant accomplishments, especially in the state capital.
They highlighted these achievements as a key factor in their decision to leave the All Progressive Congress (APC) and join the movement of his People’s Democratic Party.
