Anyanwu: I will continue to be PDP secretary until Supreme Court declares otherwise.
Senator Samuel Anyanwu, National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has emphasised that despite a Court of Appeal decision to remove him, he remains in office due to an ongoing Supreme Court appeal.
He confirmed that he holds the office legally until the Supreme Court makes a definitive verdict.
Anyanwu made this statement during a television interview with ace producer and Nigeria Right Now presenter Dickson Iroegbu yesterday.
Recognising that the country’s largest opposition party made strategic blunders in the 2023 general elections, he told Nigerians that they are working tirelessly to fix those errors and reclaim the presidency in 2027.
Anyanwu also underlined the PDP’s stability, claiming that there is no faction led by Ambassador Umar Damagum.
He emphasised the party’s progress in holding congresses in 29 states, with only minor issues raised.
The National Secretary went on to discuss his relationship with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, describing them as long-time friends who met while serving as council chairmen.
Anyanwu suggested that any grievances against Wike be formally addressed by the PDP’s Disciplinary Committee.
Anyanwu went on to attack the situation of the nation, blaming the APC-led administration for silencing opposition.
