El-Rufai knocks Sani, claims government backing Tinubu for personal gains.
Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, has criticised his successor, Governor Uba Sani, for supporting President Bola Tinubu for what he describes as personal benefit.
In a post on X, El-Rufai claimed that Sani’s consistent support for Tinubu was linked to over N150 billion in federal reimbursements obtained by Kaduna State in the last 18 months.
“I used to wonder why this governor rambled so foolishly and sycophantically every day. However, revealing that Tinubu has provided Kaduna more than N150 billion in Federal Government reimbursements, interventions, and grants’ over the previous 18 months explains everything.
“By all means, defend Asiwaju’s conditional cash transfer. Asiwaju has earned it, especially from you. The people of Kaduna State will make their decision when and where it is appropriate. El-Rufai wrote, “Have a nice day.”

The former governor’s criticism came after Sani said in a news interview on Monday that he was surprised by the mounting criticism of Tinubu’s administration from some founding members of the All Progressives Congress.
El-Rufai has recently become an outspoken critic of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
In 2023, he was denied a position in President Tinubu’s cabinet after the Senate declined to clear him, as it had done with other nominations sent to the National Assembly.
