Dangote refinery offers N10 refund on petrol to customers.
The Dangote Petrochemicals Refinery has reduced the ex-gantry price of its Premium Motor Spirit, better known as petrol, down below the publicly reported N835 per litre.
According to sources, the refinery has dropped its price to N825 per litre for its clients through a N10 refund following successful product loading.
According to the sources, marketers continue to pay ₦835 per litre for products while receiving a ₦10 refund after loading and ejecting them from the refinery.
The clandestine price modification has enabled its clients and marketers to sell the product at a cheaper price range of N830 to N835, undercutting importing marketers and private depot owners.
The official stated, “The Dangote refinery has begun offering rebates on its products. It is not an official reduction yet; rather, marketers receive a rebate after purchasing items from the refinery.
Last month, the Dangote refineries reduced its gantry price by N45 within a week, dropping it from N880 to N835 a litre.
This came after the restoration and full implementation of the Naira-for-Crude arrangement with local refiners, which had previously been suspended.
Efforts to obtain an official response from Dangote spokesperson Anthony Chiejina regarding the price reduction were useless.
