Benue: We’re Facing Calculated Genocidal Invasion By Herder Terrorists, Tor Tiv Tells Tinubu

The Tor Tiv V, James Ayatse, has disputed reports that the deaths in Benue State are the consequence of confrontations between herders and farmers, calling such statements false.

On Wednesday, he spoke at President Bola Tinubu’s ongoing meeting with stakeholders in Benue.

He stated that such knowledge had prompted him to advise the Benue people to be more tolerant and accommodating.

Ayatse claimed that the deaths were part of a decades-long, well-planned genocidal invasion and land-grabbing effort in the state by “herder terrorists and bandits”.

He stated, “We are deeply concerned about the misinformation and misrepresentation of the security crisis in Benue State.” Your Excellency, there are no herder-farmer confrontations, communal fights, retaliation attacks, or skirmishes.

“It is this misinformation that has led to suggestions such as ‘remain tolerant, negotiate for peace, learn to live with your neighbours’.”

“What we are dealing with here in Benue is a premeditated, well-planned, full-scale genocidal invasion and land-grabbing campaign by herder terrorists and bandits that has been ongoing for decades and is escalating year after year.

“improper diagnosis always results in improper therapy. So, we’re dealing with something much more terrible than we realise. The traditional monarch went on to say that dealing with the battle is more important than learning to live with your neighbours.
