Fintiri Signs Law Establishing Official Seal for Adamawa
Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has signed into law the “Bill to Create the Seal of Adamawa and Regulate Its Use, 2025,” formally adopting a new emblem as the official symbol of the state government.
According to a statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, the Seal embodies the state’s authority, heritage, and unity. It features culturally significant elements including the kakaki, spear, horse, lion, 21 stars representing the local government areas, as well as symbols of education, agriculture, and riverine communities.
Governor Fintiri described the Seal as a “statement of identity, dignity, and responsibility,” stressing that its use is strictly reserved for official government purposes. Unauthorized use, imitation, or commercial exploitation is prohibited, with penalties including fines of up to ₦1 million or imprisonment.
The law also establishes a designated authority, under the oversight of the House of Assembly, to regulate the Seal’s use and prevent abuse. Fintiri noted that the move reflects his administration’s broader commitment to discipline, institutional respect, and cultural pride.
