Governor Fintiri Mourns Former Customs Boss Ahmed Musdafa, Condoles Fombina Royal Family
Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Musdafa, former Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, and extended heartfelt condolences to the Musdafa Royal Family of the Fombina Kingdom.
Describing the news as shocking and painful, Governor Fintiri paid tribute to the late Customs Chief’s distinguished career and lifetime of public service. He noted that Alhaji Ahmed was a consummate professional, known for his integrity, discipline, and unwavering commitment to the nation.
In a condolence message to the Lamido of Adamawa, His Royal Highness Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa — elder brother of the deceased — the Governor urged the royal family to take comfort in the remarkable legacy Alhaji Ahmed left behind.
“Alhaji Ahmed lived a fulfilled life, rising to the pinnacle of his career as the head of the Nigeria Customs Service and contributing significantly to national development. His memory will endure in the hearts of those he served and the values he upheld,” Governor Fintiri said.
Speaking on behalf of the Governor, Chief Press Secretary Mr. Humwashi Wonosikou described the late Musdafa as “a man of rare humility and distinction, whose leadership both in public service and within the community earned him widespread admiration. His passing is a profound loss not only to the Fombina Kingdom but to the entire nation.”
Governor Fintiri further remarked: “Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing or working with him. His exemplary service and steadfast dedication will be remembered and cherished. We honor his memory, and his legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.”
He concluded with a prayer for the peaceful repose of the deceased: “Alhaji Ahmed has returned to his Creator in peace, having raised children who will proudly carry on his legacy of selfless service to community, state, and country. May Almighty Allah grant him eternal rest in Aljannah.”
