Fintiri swears in three commissioners, ADSIEC member in Adamawa

Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has sworn in three newly appointed commissioners and a member of the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), following their screening and confirmation by the State House of Assembly.

The ceremony, held at the Government House in Yola, saw the inauguration of Hon. Sali Idris (Maiha LGA), Engr. Muhammed Suleiman (Mubi North LGA), and Hon. Chubado Mohammed (Jada LGA) as commissioners. Mr. Iliya Gaji was also sworn in as a member of ADSIEC.

Addressing the appointees, Fintiri congratulated them on their appointments and urged them to discharge their responsibilities with accountability, integrity, transparency and a strong sense of duty.

He said their selection was based on merit, proven character and commitment to public service, expressing confidence that they would contribute significantly to the development of the state.

The governor further encouraged them to bring fresh perspectives, adopt innovative approaches and work in synergy with other members of the state executive council to achieve the administration’s development agenda.

With local government elections approaching, Fintiri specifically charged Gaji to collaborate effectively with other members of the electoral commission to ensure credible and transparent polls.

He also announced the portfolios of the new commissioners, assigning Sali Idris to the Ministry of Livestock, Muhammed Suleiman to the Ministry of Works, and Chubado Mohammed to the Ministry of Energy.

Responding on behalf of the appointees, Chubado Mohammed thanked the governor for the opportunity to serve, pledging their collective loyalty and commitment to advancing the administration’s policies and programmes.

The oath of office and allegiance was administered by the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Afraimu Jingi.
