Adamawa govt rallies support for Fintiri ahead of APC grand reception
The Adamawa state government has urged residents to turn out in large numbers for a grand reception organised by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in honour of the governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
The call was made by the commissioner for information and strategy, Iliya James, during a meeting with journalists in Yola, where he described the event as a key moment in the state’s political trajectory.
James said the reception followed Fintiri’s recent realignment with the APC, a move he said was intended to support the “renewed hope” agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He added that arrangements had been concluded for a formal welcome, which he characterised as a historic development for Adamawa.
The event is due to take place on Monday 23 March 2026 at the Mahmud Ribadu Square in Yola, starting at 10am.
According to the commissioner, the reception is expected to attract high-profile dignitaries from within and outside the country, underlining its wider political significance.
He called on party members, stakeholders and residents to mobilise in solidarity with the governor, saying a strong turnout would encourage his continued commitment to the development of the state.
James also pointed to the administration’s record, urging residents to reciprocate the governor’s efforts with support, unity and prayers.
He said the government remained committed to delivering democratic dividends and improving the welfare of citizens.
