APC finalises convention plans as screening of national contenders holds March 24

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has fixed Tuesday, March 24, for the screening of aspirants seeking national offices ahead of its March 27 National Convention.

The party said the exercise will be held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja.

In a notice issued on Sunday, the Secretary of the Aspirants’ Screening Committee, Isa Yuguda, said only aspirants who have purchased and submitted their Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms will be eligible for screening.

Yuguda added that all aspirants must appear in person and present relevant supporting documents for verification, urging candidates to arrive early to ensure a smooth and timely process.

The party had in December 2025 unveiled a comprehensive timetable for its 2025/2026 congresses at ward, local government, state and zonal levels, culminating in the national convention.

According to the schedule, the process began with membership e-registration on December 1, 2025, and ended on January 30, 2026.

Since then, the exercise has advanced through key stages, including the issuance of notices for congresses, the sale and submission of forms for various positions, and the screening of aspirants across different levels.

Ward, local government, state and zonal congresses have also been concluded, alongside the resolution of appeals arising from each stage.

The activities are expected to climax with the party’s national convention scheduled to hold from March 25 to March 28, 2026.
