Suspension of Adamawa APC primaries: Group Appeals to Buhari to call his in-law to order

The Adamawa Youth for Change and Consolidation, a pressure group based in Adamawa has urged President Muhammadu Buhari address the favouritism by the APC National Working Committee for Dr. Halilu Mahmoud. Modi is the immediate younger brother to Aisha, Wife of the President. Mr. Sini Kongo, leader of the group made the call on Tuesday while briefing newsmen in Yola. Kongo said that the manner in which the entire process for the conduct of the governorship primary election was altered by the NWC has fallen short of justice, equity and fair play. He said that the impunity, if not checked, would cause the party the chances of winning in the forth coming elections. He also urged the president to address the infractions with the view to forestall the negative perception that he is intending to impose his in-law on the Adamawa people. Kongo also referred the President to the violent scenario that engulfed River state when the then first lady instigated crisis in the state for the purpose of installing a governor. “We wish to appeal to our amiable President not to allow his heard earned name, integrity and reputation to be dragged into the mud due to politics of family and friends. “We also refer you to the crisis that engulfed River state in 2015 when the wife to the former president high jacked the party for the purpose of installing a governor. “We wish to draw your attention to the gimmick exhibited by Halilu in collaboration with the NEC that the chances of the APC coasting to victory will be destroyed going by the antics of the Abuja politicians.”This ugly trend is a matter of concern to the youth of the state and we are appealing to you to address the situation in order not to dent your reputation for discipline and just, ‘ He said.
