Consequences of alleged Workers Retrenchment over excuse of “due process not follow” Grievous for Fintiri ― Group Warn

Therefore, Karma emphasized that the Adamawa workers cannot be intimidated by the plan threat by the Governor of Adamawa State to deny some workers their salary in the name of “rush employment after 2019 election”.

Chairman, Adamawa first, Dr. Mohammed Karma on Saturday, warned that the consequences of workers retrenchment or outright sack are too grievous for Fintiri led administration which was elected by the people.

Reacting to the rumour going round in Yola that, Adamawa state government has removed the name of staff employed from October last year to May 2019 will not benefit from April/May salary in Adamawa state is a joke taking too far, Karma said the plan retrenchment under the disguise of not “following due process” by Fintiri predecessor will not hold water and any action of denying them their salary is illegal and has no place in the laws and Constitution of the country.

To this end, “we are calling on Gov. Fintiri that he should be fully prepared to pay the 32000 minimum wage to Adamawa workers not hiding under due process to fire innocent workers in which he allege some months back that they are being treated badly by Senator Bindow’s administration; we are advising the governor to throw in the towel by telling the workers that he cannot pay the 32000 minimum wage he promised, instead of using the alibi of due process not follow by his predecessor, Senator Bindow.

Karma said in a statement issued on Saturday that the threat to sack workers is not new in the struggle for the implementation of the 32000 minimum wage in Adamawa; and warned that its consequences would be very grave for PDP led state government in Adamawa State and political office holder, truly elected, to contemplate.

Therefore, Karma emphasized that the Adamawa workers cannot be intimidated by the plan threat by the Governor of Adamawa State to deny some workers their salary in the name of “rush employment after 2019 election”.

Karma said the attention of his group, the Working Class and their families have been drawn to the rumour going round the state that Adamawa state government has plan not to pay some staff employ after 2019 election in Adamawa.

He described the plan sack by the state government as an after-thought and has no place in the collective bargaining process.

“Adamawa PDP and its government led by Fintiri in Adamawa are bent on enslaving Adamawa workers with alibi of their employment not following due process is not acceptable to Adamawa workers.

“We, therefore, urge Fintiri’s led government to explain to the people what they mean by due process was not followed prior to him taken over power in Adamawa.

“Hon. Fintiri should desist from using the platform of “due process to seek political relevance. His tactics of blackmail against workers are already timeworn and the stench is already offensive.”
