Fintiri goofed by picking his media aides from electronic media –The Periscope

Fintiri goofed by appointing media aides from the electronic media The Periscope research has shown, the study reveals that Gov. Fintiri of Adamawa state goofed by appointing his media mediators from the electronic media.

The study however faulted the governor for using sentiment of “I know you” syndrome to appoints his media aide from the electronic, the news website also trace the low media patronage given to Fintiri’s administration as a result of the governor’s misgiving of surrounding himself with Journalists from electronic media which is the broadcast Journalists.

The Periscope publisher, Mr. Adamu Dodo faulted Fintiri’s decision of appointing Messrs Solomon Kumangar and George Kushi from the electronic media, as he claimed that the duo of Kumangar and Kushi are incapable of providing strong defence to the action and inaction of Gov. Fintiri of Adamawa state in terms of responding accurately to the governor’s critics.

“Little wonder that most of the governors critics get away with their criticism of Fintiri’s administration as no rejoinder comes up from the so called media aides of the governor since assumption of office, No problem, they are being exposed to on the job training. They do catch up. Experience has proven that thorough practice, truly begets genuine genius,” a general manager with a broadcasting media corporation argued.

Print media are the newspaper and magazine specialties, added to the online upgraded version. The electronic otherwise referred to as broadcast media in this regard, are the radio and television specialties.

Although the educationally developing society under the study, uses electronic media, especially the radio, to get to reach the teeming citizens particularly, in the rural communities and television in pseudo urban society. The print media has significant impact on the not too many elites, yet they are those who give meaning to any issued press statement and/or the chief executive’s broadcast; this is the area Democratic “majoritarian ideal is hardly tolerated.”

Far from that, the media mediators who stemmed from the print media, are for the most part, analysed to be more creative, give more attention and take more time analysing, scrutinising, critical thinking and vetting what comes as the chief executive speech or press statement.

Suffices to say that the products of print media Directors of Press Affairs or Media and Communications or Press Secretaries or simply spokesperson’s to the Chief Executives, are for the most part, more real than pseudo. They take into cognisance the use to which public relations and media relations can be put to promote their principals effectively and efficiently.

“Little wonder that President Muhammadu Buhari, like his predecessors, deploys the services of professional journalists from print media; Femi Adesina and Garba Shehu as his spokespersons.

The study is actually limited to the spokesman with Adamawa State Government; from Governor Boni Haruna’s regime in the late 90s to this day.

Hon. Abdulrazak Namdas has made a good outing as spokesperson to Governor Boni Haruna. Even though he is a graduate of Mass Communication making the additional advantage, Namdas was picked from print media; then a correspondent with a national daily newspaper.

The media relations, the image making and the defence against the attack on personality and government policies, even where the governor goofed, were expertly done without an iota of “idioticising” the opposition. Namdas, journalists in the state interviewed noted, carried along the entire categories of media, as a spokesman to the governor for a media mediation.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, like his predecessors, was said to have started a four-year journey making the grievous mistake made by his predecessors by appointing his media team from electronic a wrong step, using the wrong foot.

Investigations reveals that Messrs Solomon Kumangar and George Kushi, the spokesmen to governor Fintiri had but electronic media experience with television stations, though Kumangar has had previous experiences of being spokesman to Fintiri when he holds way as acting governor of the state in 2014.

Whether or not they would make a difference, it would be too early for a worthy conclusion.
