The Presidential election tribunal in Abuja has dismissed a petition challenging the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari as the President of Nigeria.

Mr Buhari was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 23 February 2019 poll in Nigeria.

The chairman of the tribunal, Mohammed Garba, read the ruling of the five -member panel on Wednesday.

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, challenged Mr Buhari’s victory at the tribunal.

The tribunal struck out the petition for lack of substantial evidence by the opposition.
