GOVERNOR FINTIRI TO UPGRADE TTS CENTERS TO BOARDING SCHOOLS

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri led Team of North-East Development Commission (NEDC) which was in the State on a study visit. He said the State government is committed to reviving the ten centers scattered the various zones in the State.
Governor Fintiri lauded the initiative where he decried it’s neglect by previous administrations. He beckoned NEDC to partner the State Government in upgrading the centers to boarding and to accommodate candidates from other States of the North-East region.
While speaking to journalists the Chairman of the NEDC, Major General Paul Tarfa (Rtd.) Commended the efforts of the Adamawa State Government at empowering young people in the State through skills acquisition. He said the Commission will seek ways of complimenting the State Government’s effort and see how the model could harnessed for the overall benefit of the North-East region.
The Technical Manager who took the team on a tour of the facilities at Technical Training School Yola disclosed that at the present capacity the center can cater for is not less than 600 persons. He said the centers train candidates in Welding, Electrical fittings, automobile repairs among others
