Reverting to his usual level of dishonesty, Fintiri made 8 false claims last week

Gov. Umaru Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa state made just 8 false claims two weeks ago, a holiday week during which he uttered few public remarks.

He gave fact checkers only a brief respite. Back to Yola and back to visiting local government’s areas of Adamawa state and doing interviews in 2020, Fintiri made 8 false claims last week. That is tied for the fifth-highest total in the year 2020 we have counted at THE FINDER.

It was an eclectic batch of dishonesty. Among other things, Fintiri took unearned credit for both the rebranding specialist hospital in the state capital, rebranding that of Ganye, promised Loco community fire incident victims 3 million naira and also promised to relocate the state college of health from Mubi to Michika without considering the state of infrastructure left behind by the haramites that ransacked Michika and Madagali local government area of the state.

In 2019 Fintiri made 27 of the false claims at his campaign rally in Jimeta, the state capital, during the gubernatorial campaign in build-up to the 2019 election. He made 16 more in a televised interview with local Tv stations and radio in the state capital. He made six in his speech in Gotel television media parley.

Fintiri’s total of 8 false claims last week was above his average of about 8 per week. Fintiri is now up to 198 false claims since 29th May, 2019 an average of about nine per day.

The most egregious false claim: GOVERNOR FINTIRI TO RESUSCITATE SPECIALIST HOSPITAL and the promised to build 2000 housing units for workers which are yet to begin after several months of taken 9.9 billion naira loan for same purpose.

Despite the current state of the state specialist hospital in Yola left in the pitiable state since the last renovation by his predecessor, Sen. Bindow nothing tangible has been done by the Fintiri’s administration, apart from visiting and making false promises on regularly bases to rebrand the hospital that was partly renovated by the last administration of Bindow . Fintiri nonetheless claimed that the people were saying nice things about his plans to renovate the hospital.

Fintiri takes credit for World Bank rural access road in Jada, Ganye and other areas in the state. The CSO Society says he’s wrong.

Despite all making numerous unfulfilled promises in 2019, Fintiri again starts 2020 with lies and failed promises, this time, he went to Michika to make false claim of relocating college for health from Mubi to Michika without recourse to security and infrastructure that will accommodate the teachers and student.
