Finitiri Have No Reason Not To Pay Minimum Wage, Says Group

The chairman, Adamawa united for a change, Alhaji Musa Dasin says Fintiri led state governments do not have any reason not to pay the N30, 000 minimum wages and the consequential adjustment of civil servants from grade level 7.

According to the Chairman, Musa Dasin, the wage is now binding on all states following President Muhammadu Buhari’s assent.

Dasin disclosed this during a chat with our correspondent in Yola. He added if other states are struggling to implement it should not be Adamawa state, as state salary bill has decrease from the 1.8 billion to about 1.2billion due the sacking of the 10,000 workers by Fintiri.

“Let us also not lose sight of the fact that FAAC allocations to Adamawa have increased significantly from the peanut collect by the Bindow administration, from the day the President assented to the bill, it becomes a law. So, therefore, states have no reason not to respect a law that had been enacted,” he said.

While asking Fintiri to understand the current economic situation facing workers in Adamawa state, “at least we expect him to look into the promotion arrears issues, as for the leave grant that they roll out drums to celebrate, Bindow led state government paid leave grant of civil servants from 2013, 2014 and 2015 without making noise”.
