Breaking News: Group urge Gov. Fintiri to send Anti-kidnapping bill to ADSHA

Civic organisations have asked the governor of Adamawa state, Umaru Ahmadu Fintiri to as matter of urgency send anti-kidnaping bill to the Adamawa state house of assembly if truly he is committed to end the menace of kidnapping that has taken centre stage in the state.

The group, Paradigm Leadership Support Initiative (PLSI), said this during a press conference on Monday in Yola.

The groups said they were opposed to the existing penal law, of which have rendered the fight against kidnapping ineffective and less efficient.

According to the statement by the groups, the penal code use by the Police in Adamawa for kidnapers is obsolete, therefore we request the governor to send anti-kidnapping bill as an executive bill to the assembly with stiffer sanction or else those that make brisk business from kidnaping under the governor’s watch will continue without deterrent

Mr Lawal said citizen in Adamawa will be under constant attack if the bill is not passed by the state Assembly and stiffer penalty like death sentence will scare kidnappers from the state.
