Fact check: Despite several denials, Adamawa state government still use overdraft to pay salaries

Gov. Fintiri led state government in Adamawa, that was several months ago in 2019 exposed by The Finder for borrowing to pay monthly salary since he took over office as governor has finally applied for restructuring of  the monthly over drafts taken to pay salary, according to a bank source.

Despite several months of denials by the Adamawa state government, a Zenith bank source that pleaded anonymity told this news medium that the governor is still taken over drafts till date to pay salary of workers.

“yes I can confirm to you that the governor is using overdraft as without it he can’t pay salary in the state now, he even wants the monthly overdraft to be restructured, because the usual practice is that if a governor takes overdraft this month he has to pay the following month then take another, but from what we are hearing he wants to the overdraft to be restructured more than a month” the source said.
