APC chieftain rejects Gov. Fintiri’s appointment

A chieftain of the All progressive congress in Adamawa state, Anna Sini, has rejected her appointment as a special assistant to Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.

Mrs Sini’s appointment, which was among the many made recently by the governor, would have been restricted to Michika Local Government Area where she hails from if he had accepted it.

Mrs Sini in a letter to the APC leadership in Adamawa, Monday, said she “wholeheartedly” rejected the appointment, as her close political ally claimed the appointment was “too demeaning” for her, as she was disappointed with Mr Fintiri because of that.

“I want to notify the party of my appointment by His Excellency Umaru Fintiri, the executive governor of Adamawa state as special adviser to the governor on 29/05/2020.

“I sincerely appreciate him for the honour given me.

“However I want to bring to the knowledge of my party that I expressly declined the appointments.

“I am assuring my party the APC of total loyalty and commitment as APC member.

According to a close ally of the former APC senatorial aspirant that pleaded anonymity because he is authorise to speak on the matter told THE FINDER that “ Sini felt she should be singled out not because she feel special but because of her pedigree. She rejects it and she may not need any other appointment.

“There is nothing special in given a “common special assistant” appointment to a woman of substance like Mrs Sini by Finiti.

“Some of the governor’s political associates called and said she should be humble and accept the appointment, but her conscience could not allow her to do that to tarnish her image as APC member, I will tell anybody that Mrs. Sini cannot put her image at stake because of special assistant appointments.

“Mrs Sini was not contacted before the announce was made as we see most of the appointments given to APC members by Fintiri as a Greek gift with intention to cause disharmony with the ranks of Adamawa APC.” The source said
