Gombi/Hong: Rep. Yusuf Captain Buba third term ambition Suffers Setback as Adamawa All Progressive Congress Dumps Him for fresh candidate Ahead of 2022 Election

The third term ambition of Yusuf Captain Buba, member representing Gombi/Hong federal constituency in the Nigerian House of Representative may have suffered a major setback following the decision of the Adamawa State chapter of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) to declare their total support for a fresh candidate instead of supporting the third term agenda of Rep. Yusuf Buba in 2022. 

The latest move was made public by a member of the Adamawa  state working committee of the APC that spoke exclusively to The Finder on a condition of anonymity in Yola said his executive members took the decision to avoid losing Gombi/Hong to opposition in 2022 polls. 

“APC Adamawa State chapter is going to field a new candidate and we are going to give him all the needed support to ensure his victory at the election.” The source said.

The decision comes few days after the Adamawa state chapter of the APC held a secret meeting in Abuja with some party chieftains.

The Finder learnt the visit was to lobby the state executives and other stalwarts to back a fresh candidate for Gombi/Hong Federal constituency in 2022. The Adamawa state SWC source told this news medium that it would amount to political suicide to support the third term ambition of Yusuf Captain Buba when the PDP is in control of the state. 

The source said the chances of APC retaining Gombi/Hong in 2022 with a fresh candidate were brighter than fielding Yusuf Captain Buba who may squander the goodwill. He noted that those hatching to support Buba’s third term ambition were wasting their money and energy.

The Adamawa state  APC SWC source advised the people in question to invest their resources on profitable ventures, pointing out that Buba cannot play God with his third term ambition as he is not the only qualify candidate from Gombi/Hong that will continue to occupy that seat.
