Despite boasting to be sworn into office as Governor in 2023, Ishaku Abbo makes turn says he is not desperate to cajole other aspirants.
The senator representing Adamawa North, Ishaku Abbo makes a quick u-turn Saturday afternoon in front of party officials claiming he is not desperate to be Governor in 2023.
Abbo during APC press conference in Yola recant on his earlier egregious boast that he will be sworn into office as governor of Adamawa state in 2023.
A mild drama played at the party secretariat as Ishaku Abbo try in vain to cajole other aspirants by claiming he is not desperate to be governor.
A statement most party officials was not comfortable with, according to one of the gubernatorial aspirant of the APC, who spoke to this medium on a condition of anonymity said “how can someone whose name is written in pencil speak on behalf of people like Bindow, Nayko and others.
“Abbo thought we don’t know he wants to trick other party officials, if he Abbo who left his duty as a senator to engage in the early campaign despite having no achievement as a senator, could make a u-turn today then he cannot be trusted with APC party ticket.
“Because he has been going around telling people he wants to be governor not knowing that he can hardly win the likes of Senator Jibrilla Bindow, “he made this statement thinking he can deceive other candidates not knowing we are aware of his plans to destroy the party if the ticket is not given to him,” the party source said.
