Breaking: Federal High Court Adjourns CSO, The Finder Vs Bashir Ahmad led covid 19 committee Case to March 25

A Federal High Court sitting in Yola has adjourned till March 25, 2021, hearing of the substantive suit brought by CSO and The Finder Newspaper, seeking an order to compel Bashir Ahmad led covid 19 committees to avail it all the information sought through the freedom of information law.

 

The court fixed March 1 to hear arguments on the motion for an order directing the Adamawa state government, the Bashir Ahmad led covid 19 committees to avail it all the spending of the committee set up by the Adamawa state government to manage covid 19 pandemics.

 

At the resumed hearing, Mr Ifegwu Mbonu ESQ announced an appearance for The Finder, According to him, “My Lord, this matter was adjourned to today for hearing, and I am prepared to go on”.

 

 

Adamawa state government, Bashir Ahmad led covid 19 committees through their counsel A.J Akanmode sought an adjournment to enable them to file processes in the suit as they claim they were only served on the weekend and yet to study the content of the application.

 

In response, counsel to The Finder, Mbonu did not object to their request for adjournment.

 

On that note, Justice Abdulaziz Anka adjourned the case until March 25 to hear of the substantive suit.
