Adamawa govt explains delay in payment of June salaries.

The Adamawa State Government has given reasons for the delay in paying June salaries to civil servants, assuring that necessary steps have been taken to resolve the matter.

 

Through his spokesman Solomon Kumangar, the Governor said the delay was due to the recent financial autonomy granted to the Judiciary and legislative arms. The state allocation committee has sorted out the payment modalities that are responsible for the delay.

 

Kumangar also disclosed that a committee, made up of representatives of the Ministry of justice, the accountant general office and the clerk of the Adamawa state House of Assembly, had been set up to determine the revenue allocation to judicial and legislative arms.

 

 While appreciating civil servants for their patience, Director General Media to the Governor said the accountant had been directed to ensure salaries are paid by next week.
