Group calls for sack of Provost, Adamawa college of education, Yusuf Baha over arrogance and inexperience.
Following the recent student’s unrest on the Adamawa state college of Education, Hong, the National Forum of Patriots (NFP) has called on Governor Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state to act fast and relieve the Provost, Yusuf Baha, of his duties.
The NFP made this known in a press statement by Mapida Ikwurnyi and Samuel Nathaniel, its convener and co-convener, respectively.
The statement noted that the gains made by the former Provost of the college, especially Baha immediate predecessor, are directly undermined by the lack of will from Baha’s office due to his lack of administrative experience and arrogance.
The NFP said that if something urgent is not done, the progress made by the former Provosts as Governor Fintiri’s legacies will be eroded by the Baha’s arrogance and negligence.
Therefore, to avert further collapse, the forum urged Governor Fintiri to dismiss Baha and appoint someone with the needed capacity, competence, and courage to put one of the best-ranking college of education in the northeast as rated under Pongri’s watch on the right path.
It reminded Governor Fintiri that his pledge to education was part of the reasons Adamawa electorates voted for him. It is a travesty that a mere appointee is about to make him look this bad before the people.
The statement partly reads, “We found it most unfortunate that the gains being made by the founding Provosts of Adamawa state college of Education, Hong, are being directly undermined by the lack of will emanating from administrative neophyte like the current Provost of ADSCOE.
It is the provost responsibility to cobble together students and workers in a manner that accord cover to ADSCOE community.
The successes achieved by the past Provost as Governor Fintiri’s legacies are being eroded when the college needs an experienced administrator to continue with the former provost’s legacy.
“According to a student that spoke to this medium on a condition of anonymity, Baha inexperience propelled the recent student uprising in the college.
“The current management of the institution could not achieve standard examination table as two courses clash the same day due to Yusuf Baha led management incompetence”,
When the college most needed competence, Yusuf Baha has proven to lack understanding of the current issues facing the institution and his inability to galvanize and coordinate strategy actions that will see the college run smoothly like the days of his predecessor.
It is on the strength of the foregoing that the National Forum of Patriots (NFP) at this moment demands that something must give way and that Governor Fintiri immediately sacks Yusuf Baha as the Provost to enable those with the needed capacity, competence and courage to occupy the position without any further delay, to put the college architecture on the right path.”
Reacting, Yusuf Baha denies wrongdoing and all the assertion of students and staff of the college accusing him of exhibiting youthful exuberance and erratic behaviour.
